A Day in the Life...

A Word From Our Students

A Day in the Life of Taylor, Class of 2011

Today was one of the best days ever here at Notre Dame! As part of Spirit Week, today was Blue and Gold day. Everyone in the school decked out in school colors and we had a enthusiastic pep rally to get ready for our homecoming football game tonight! It has been a great week to plan crazy outfits with friends as well as bond with my fellow classmates. As a member of Student Council, I will be helping with setting up everything needed to crown our Homecoming Queen tonight. After that, I will sit back and cheer on our Crusaders!

When I woke up this morning, I felt very stressed about getting my college applications done. This includes finishing my essay and making sure all of my letters of recommendation are in. But after I got to school and talked to my guidance counselor, I felt much better. She reassured me that I had enough time to do everything and that Notre Dame prepares their students extremely well for college! In fact, 100% of our seniors go on to college! I also felt better when the festivities of Spirit Week and Homecoming were seen throughout the crazy outfits and colorful posters portraying our win in the upcoming football game!

In terms of going to college, Notre Dame is known for its great candidates. There is no shortage of extracurricular activities! I am a basketball and softball player, Treasurer of Key Club, Secretary of National Honor Society, and Secretary of Student Council! All of these activities certainly keep me busy, but it is all worth it. In terms of letters of recommendation, they were easy to get teachers to write for me because classes are small and teachers really know my work. They are also very willing to do anything to help me! As I reflect on my three years and one month so far here at Notre Dame, I see that everyone has tried their hardest to help me succeed and has provided me with a solid base for life.
